Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
At Scrinio we take your privacy seriously. The app is designed with an offline-first approach: your collection lives on your device and, by default, needs no accounts or servers. This Policy explains what data we process, for what purpose, on what legal basis, and what rights you have.
1. Data controller
The controller of the data is Fran Alarza ("we", "Scrinio"). For any question about your data or this Policy, you can write to franalarza@gmail.com.
2. What this Policy covers
This Policy covers two areas:
- The Scrinio website (this site), mainly the sign-up form for receiving updates.
- The Scrinio mobile app for iOS.
3. Data we process on the website
3.1. Updates list (newsletter)
If you subscribe to our updates list, we process your email address in order to inform you about the app launch, updates and news related to Scrinio.
- Legal basis: your consent, given when you tick the box and submit the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Processor: we manage the list through Buttondown (Buttondown, LLC), our email marketing provider. This provider stores your email on our behalf and may record basic technical data (e.g. whether you open an email).
- Retention: we keep your email while you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email or by contacting us.
3.2. Technical browsing data
The site is served through Cloudflare, which may process minimal technical data (such as your IP address) for security and content delivery purposes. The site does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
4. Data we process in the app
4.1. Your collection
The games you add, your preferences (currency, region) and the contents of your collection are stored locally on your device. Scrinio does not host your collection on its own servers.
4.2. Game and price data
Catalog information (titles, covers, platforms) and market prices are shipped embedded within the app, generated from sources such as PriceCharting and IGDB. Looking them up does not send any of your data to any server. Exchange rates used to convert prices to your currency may be refreshed periodically from a public exchange-rate source.
4.3. AI Vision (Pro feature)
If you use the optional AI Vision feature to identify a game from a photo of its cover, that image is sent to our processing service (hosted on Cloudflare) for the sole purpose of recognizing the game and returning the result to you. The image is processed on a one-off basis for that request. The rest of the app works offline; only this feature requires internet.
4.4. Usage analytics
We use PostHog to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used (for example, which screens are visited) so we can improve it. This analytics focuses on usage events, not on personally identifying you.
4.5. Pro subscription
Subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and RevenueCat, which acts as an intermediary to validate your purchase. Payment is processed by Apple; we neither receive nor store your card details.
5. Providers and international transfers
To provide the service we rely on technology providers such as Apple, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, PostHog and an email marketing provider. Some may process data outside the European Economic Area; in that case, the safeguards provided by the GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, as well as to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise them, write to franalarza@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency, AEPD).
7. Minors
Scrinio is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. Keep in mind that no system is 100% secure, but we work to minimize the risks.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the app or in legislation. We will publish the revised version on this page with its new update date.
